ROLL OUT THE BARRELS WEEKEND

San Luis Obispo, CA - San Luis Obispo Vintners Association is ready for its 19th annual Roll Out the Barrels Weekend which begins this Thursday April 30th and runs through May 3rd, 2009. Some twenty-two participating wineries in the San Luis Obispo Wine Region will welcome new visitors and longtime wine friends to a bunch of relaxing events. This four day event consists of 3 major components: Barrels In The Plaza, Winemaker Dinners, and the popular 2-day Passport to Wine Country.Thursday April 30th, 5:30 – 7:30 Barrels In the Plaza:In San Luis Obispo’s historic downtown Mission Plaza SLO they will feature ‘grown here, made here’ from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. SLO Vintner’s will partner with local food producers, restaurants, and vendors to celebrate a complete culinary experience right from the terroir of SLO. Friday May 1st Winemaker Dinners at participating San Luis Obispo WineriesEnjoy special culinary experiences with the winemakers and principals for a delicious way to meet the people who shaped the region.Saturday, May 2nd & Sunday, May 3rd 11:00 – 4:00 Roll Out the Barrels Passport WeekendThe annual two day passport portion (Saturday and Sunday), will allow visitors to San Luis Obispo entry to 20 wineries where they will experience wine and food pairings, reserve barrel tastings, entertainment and special discounts. “This is a perfect way to portray the beautiful place that we live, and the bounty it provides for us.
