- Rooms are still available for the weekend at participating hotels.
- Friday morning Begins with Bubbles, enjoy a taste of Sea Smoke's inaugural vintage (2008) of Sea Spray, an estate grown blanc de noirs sparkling wine.
- Two Wine Seminars at Chamisal Vineyards on Friday morning panelists will tackle two current topics in the wine press: 1) Technique v. Terroir with panelists Leslie Renaud, Thomas Houseman, and Andrew Brooks; and 2) Natural Winemaking: Highest Respect or Neglect? moderated by John Haeger and includes panelists Alice Feiring, Clark Smith, Bradley Brown, Peter Cargasacchi, Scott Kelley, and Joe Wright.
- The Seaside Fête on Friday night at the Avila Beach Golf Resort includes a team of local Chefs who we're told will execute a meal that will raise the standards for cuisine at the World of Pinot Noir! Think gourmet BBQ under a heated tent. The wine will be flowing freely at the Féte. Expect the same casual vibe that you experienced at the Paulée Dinner in previous years. Bring a bottle if you would like! Click on the "participants" tab on the WOPN website to view the wineries pouring at the Fête.
- The Vintage Burgundy Dinner held at Dolphin Bay Resort on Friday evening will feature a full-course dinner prepared by Chef Mark Peel of the renowned Campanile Restaurant, and Chef Brian Collins of Lido Restaurant. The Court of Master Sommeliers President, Fred Dame, will host and pour a selection of vintage and rare wines from the Court's cellar for each course. This is the premier dining event at the World of Pinot Noir! Seating is limited to 50 guests.
- The Saturday night Dine Around at local Central Coast restaurants returns this year. Restaurants will host 4 wineries that will present and pour during a course for the dinner. Each Chef will prepare a cuisine that pairs flawlessly with Pinot Noir. These Intimate Pinot Noir dinners are planned at The Cass House, The Neon Carrot, Novo, Et Voilà!, and Ventana Grill. Click on the "participants" tab on our website to view the wineries pouring at the Dine Around restaurants.
- The Pinot Adventure Camp debuts this year. On Saturday morning guests will embark on outdoor adventures. Our first adventure has 6 winemakers each leading a foursome of golfers through 18 holes at the challenging yet serene Avila Beach Golf Resort. Chef Kevin Woods hosts the golfers for lunch at Mulligan's Bar & Grill. Kayaking in Morro Bay and hiking Estero Bluffs north of Cayucos with winemakers are two more adventures led by Central Coast Outdoors. Following these adventures guests will sit down to a Pinot Noir lunch prepared by Neil Smith at Windows on the Water with wines from our winery participants.
- Burgundy From the Ground Up features Allen Meadows who will conduct a primer on the history, grapes, soils, and geography of Burgundy on Saturday morning in the Cliffs Ballroom. The session will feature a tasting of wines representing the terroir of villages in Côte de Beaune, and in the Côte de Nuits. Following the seminar is a 3-course lunch at Lido restaurant prepared by Chef Brian Collins. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to begin their education on the wines in Burgundy, or for those who would like to deepen their understanding.
